We are the West Virginia Chapter of the Association of Consulting Foresters. This is your resource for locating a consulting forester to assist you with your forestry needs and to help protect your financial interests.

Established in 1948 for consulting forestry professionals, the Association of Consulting foresters was founded on the belief that “it was in the public interest to establish minimum professional and ethical standards … and that private landowners needed informed, professional help with no conflicts of interest.” The ACF is the only national association for consulting foresters.

Members of the ACF have met the following guidelines:
• Bachelor of Science degree in forestry
• at least two years of experience in the field
• hold a primary occupation in consulting forestry
• be an owner or partner of a forestry consulting firm or salaried employee in one owned by an ACF member
• cannot have a financial relationship with a procurement entity or timber buyer
